Founders Inspiration

Ryan Gordy was my only child and my greatest teacher. Ryan brought joy to my heart every day for 29 years, his birth and departure transformed my life as he was my guiding light. He was my greatest love, a rare and enlightened young man who was brilliant and gifted with divine light and a majestic soul. He was also very independent and refused to be defined by his last name, he was always seeking knowledge through reading and researching everything. He was charming and the greatest impersonator as he kept us all laughing.

Then the unthinkable happened, my darling son was diagnosed with Leukemia. He faced the diagnosis with courage and grace while embracing a vegan lifestyle and opted out of chemo treatments with the support of many doctors and his guru. He kept his light shining brightly with a sweet fragrance as he bloomed like a flower for years, mediating, hiking and empowering us all with his work ethics, spirituality, passion for life, yoga practice, grace and courage. When faced with the biggest challenge of his young life, my son soared like an eagle. I would never be prepared for the sudden changes that quickly took him from this planet.

The Ryan Gordy Foundation was born as a tribute to my son and his devotion to all who knew him his lifestyle is the motivating force as he continues to inspire me every day through the work that we do creating healing for us all especially young adults impacted by cancer. He was committed to empowering his friends, family and community on the healing power of a plant-based diet, healthy lifestyle and the power of meditation, yoga and looking within for guidance. Ryan’s presence on this planet is a gift to the world and everyone that was blessed to know him and walked his path.

I am blessed and honored to be Ryan’s mom… a privilege I will cherish to the end of time!

Those who knew Ryan personally would describe him as an old soul with an extraordinary presence, his ever-vibrant charm was unparalleled, a rare and enlightened young man who was brilliant, gifted with divine light, a majestic soul and beautiful heart. He was also very independent and refused to be defined by his last name, he was always seeking knowledge through reading and researching everything. He was charming and the greatest impersonator as he kept us all laughing.

He inspired and touched our lives with his resilience, love, kindness and passions for health and wellness, he was committed and dedicated to be the best version of himself, through the good and challenging times of his life he would stay true to this word with great integrity and authenticity. He was committed to empowering his friends, family and community on the healing power of a plant-based diet, healthy lifestyle and the power of meditation, yoga and looking within for guidance.

Carefree may have been his motto, but hard work ethics and determination defined his attitude, as a recording artist, Ryan wrote and produced many songs. He took the modeling world by storm appearing in campaigns for Lucky Brand, Glamour Magazine, Apple, Google, Verizon, Nissan, Sony, Samsung, Target, Play Station, New Balance and Bridgestone to name a few.

His deeply spiritual side took precedence however and was his guiding force. Through his Guru and Spiritual mentor, the Yogi, Sadhguru, he found a passion and practice that brought him grace, freedom and peace.
