The Guardian Angel Program

The Ryan Gordy Guardian Angel Program was created to support young adult cancer patients (ages 18 - 30) who need financial assistance, temporary housing, and/or transportation, especially for patients who are subject to social and economic disadvantages. We strive to lessen the burden on young people and their families.

Financial Assistance

This fund provides direct financial assistance to patients in need. We’ve found that often individuals with cancer are unable to work during and after treatment, and disability insurance caps how long and how much it will cover. This fund fills the gap with financial assistance for dozens of young patients.

Temporary Housing

Many cancer patients live more than 50 miles away from where they are receiving treatment. With this program, patients and caregivers are able to apply for temporary housing for a limited number of nights while they are being treated.

Transportation

For patients who need to receive daily or weekly treatment, many are faced with challenges

such as rising gas prices, difficulties in getting transportation, or the fatigue of driving long

distances. This program provides Lyft and Uber gift cards or other free transportation options.

Meet Daniel, Cancer Survivor.

Meet one of the recipients of

The Ryan Gordy Guardian Angel Program

An only child from a working-class family, Daniel tragically lost both parents to cancer seven years ago, forcing him to face his own cancer struggle alone. Further, his diagnosis made it impossible to continue his job as a carpenter’s apprentice, leaving him unable to support himself during this critically difficult time in his life.

The Ryan Gordy Foundation was able to step in by providing Daniel with desperately-needed financial resources to help him through his treatment and recovery.

We are dedicated to integrated mind and body wellness and believe that reducing Daniel’s level of stress is conducive to healing.
